When I thought I lost me . . . .

Writer: James HarringtonJames Harrington

Light shines and changes everything- always.

Morning meditation this morning by the water here in Venice Florida:

”Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.“

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60‬:‭1‬ ‭

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Matthew 5:16

“When I thought I lost me

You knew where I left me

You reintroduced me to Your love

You picked up all my pieces

Put me back together

You are the defender of my heart”

-Francesca Battistelli

What's this all about?

I've been going through ferocious season for most of the past year. The thing about monster storms is that they can reach an intensity that overwhelms the senses and completely disorients us . . . we lose all bearings and can't navigate.

The storms of life can reach an intensity that is even more powerful - that overwhelming disorientation can saturate us....we lose ourselves.

In times like that it is only what or who we lashed ourselves to that holds us and keeps us from getting washed into the darkness of the sea.

Eventually, the storm calms, and light shines into the darkness ignites a spark inside of ourselves. But the storm we survived . . . the one that got inside of us and nearly washed us over the rails.... that storm isn't truly over until we take the first steps to allow our own light to shine once again.

When we begin to shine....perhaps out of grit or raw faith.... that is when the storm truly ends....when we allow the light that fills us to pour out into the world around us, we begin to find ourselves again and allow our hearts to begin healing.
